Scattered among the olive groves there are various fruit trees: peach, pear, apple, apricot, fig trees, as well as blackberries, artichokes, wild asparagus, and a vast array of cultivated and wild herbs.
The house is located ½ a km below the village in a south facing valley which looks onto unspoiled rolling mountains dotted mainly by olive groves and vineyards. Apart from the many spectacular places to discover, you’ll find the house to be an island of calm where the air is fragrant and life is slowed to the rhythm of the land and the seasons. The nearby villages are still thoroughly local with artisan bakers and butchers, vineyards and farmers, town bars and squares.
Excellent communications via motorway to the two Rome aiports Fiumicino and Ciampino. The nearest railway station also offers good and cheap rail links into Rome and to Florence from Orte. It is also 20 minutes to he nearest motorway. Whilst being well situated for touring it also offers many local delights of the countryside and small local towns, of which there are many.
It offers good local shopping with supermarkets, banks, chemists, restaurants and bars in Giove ad Penna in Teverina. A choice of places to visit by Car: Amelia: 15 mins Orvieto: 40 mins Spoleto: 60 mins Assisi: 1.5 hours Florence: 2 hours Rome: 45 mins (by train).
