Visiting Umbria
Umbria is well known for its fantastic food, wine and culture which rival those of many of Europe's regions, and you can be sure that a visit here will be a most pleasant and enjoyable one.
Stunning views.
Umbria is said to be one of the most beautiful regions in Italy, made up of breathtaking mountainous views, lush chestnut groves and elm forests, and awe-inspiring valleys laced with countless gleaming rivers.
Each season has its own beauty.
It is possible to suggest that Umbria benefits
from one of the best climates in Italy. Summer provides a warm and comfortable 20 to 28C, with a
fresh gentle breeze adding to the pleasantness of the local surroundings.
Unlike many places in Europe, Umbria's winters are quite tolerable,
with temperatures rarely hitting low levels. It is not unheard of to
find locals relaxing in the crisp blue-sky mornings outside their
villas during the winter months!
Easily found and accessed.
Umbria can
be found in the very centre of the Italian peninsular, bordered by Tuscany to the west, the Marche to the east, and Lazio
to the south. Umbria is served by an excellent
rail and road network, with easy access to Rome, Pisa, Bologna and Florence
International airports.
Additionally, Perugia airport is well served by low-cost carrier Ryanair.
